Lee lead melter advice
Submitted by black gen on Tue, 2023-06-13 06:18
Gday crew
have had a search and read a thread from 2011 about the Lee melters
have wanted one for years but never got around to getting one
just curious to know how anyone using them gets a 32oz mould under it being only about 10-11cm clearance under the spout.
are you able to modify the base to get it under there?
any tips would be welcomed
cheers

Easy to modify
I had one of these some time back and it was very easy to modify the base by adding blocks underneath to raise it up for larger sinker moulds.

did you have to cut a piece
did you have to cut a piece out of the centre of the bottom frame to fit the mould underneath after you had raised it?

Probably stating what you
Probably stating what you guys already know, but the secret to a good pour is to get the mould nice and warm-hot.

Lee sell a spacer to raise
Lee sell a spacer to raise the pot. Shouldn't be any issues to simply make a spacer from a piece of square tubing, , screw one side to the upright and the other side to the base.

Rotate the base and tek screw
Rotate the base and tek screw it to a bench so the urn is hanging off the side, you'll fit anything under it then.
