Landbased Squidding

Hi Fishwrecked team,

I have been a constant follower of fishwrecked and this is my first post. I have been out squidding over the last few weeks without to much luck. I am a landbased squidder which does not have access to a boat. I fish primarily from North Mole and South Mole and in the last few weeks have not had much Luck with Squidding. I do use good squid jigs from breaden, yozuri, yamashita. If anyone have tips or new locations which i can try near Perth Metro that would be great. Also if you can help with the best colour of squid jigs to use at night as i am still fresh to the squidding and fishing scene.

Thanks

Yep, send Danno a message, he's the gun.   Still waiting for some video of that EGI gaff in action mate!

Any other questions about the site mate, just ask.

Cheers,

Adam

Cheers for the welcome.

Normally i let the squid jig sink to the bottom. Jig 3 times and let it sink to the bottom again. Normal colours i have been using have orange and pink. Can you recommend any other land based spots other than North mole and South Mole within the Perth Metro area.

 Woodies is another great

Woodies is another great spot for catching squid with the right conditions. Look at more colours like, greens, browns, blues and naturals. I personaly dont like blues.

I use pretty much the same techniques i dont let it sink all the way to the bottom but just above it. Look on google earth for rock walls along the coast and you'll be able to spot some great squidding spots there, look for weed beds just out from the rocks.
