Landbased Fishing Forum
I realise that a lot of work has gone into the site and the Landbased Fishing Forum is a mine of information on places for the boatless to go - but i noticed this morning probably the umpteenth query on where to go at Shark Bay - may i suggest the development of a non interactive section of the site that lists landbased spots starting at Eucla and finishing at the NT border with maybe a division for non ocean sites. I know these are accessible by searching in associated forums but a reference page listing basics like Location, access, amenities and species would be a good guide and could be compiled from the answers given by the site members. This would be a heap of work but like a lot of other people i haven't been to some places because i have only a vague idea of where they are, access and sometimes another name to the one i've been given etc etc.

i like the idea
i like the idea but sometimes people need to do a bit of there own exploring after a few basic hints or tips from others. I am sure there are plenty of people out there who wouldnt like their local spots exposed say if they live somewhere more out of the way. but places like shark bay are pretty well explored out these days and any fishing book should should give enough info let alone the countless magazine articles on these spots

If someone
has their own secret spot it is unlikely to be posted for inclusion on the guide - but i doubt unless you are willing to wade up to your nurries in Kimberley swamps, there a very few unfished spots. I have both Phil Bodeker's books and a heap of others but there is no quick reference book that i have seen. My reason for posting the topic was simply to propose a help for members and save the same queries going up every few weeks. I think i will do the research and publish it myself - so "W.A. The lazy fisherman and the Internet
I take your point about reading up in magazines etc but I am not a buyer of such. 1. They are made of trees and cost money and, 2. It's easier by nature these days to seek input from the Internet communities. Some people are quite willing to engage in helpful discussions to assist the less-knowledgable when the need arises. Maybe I should have rephrased my quesion to something like "are the fish running at Shark Bay at the moment and if so, any suggestions as to where?". Really, that's what I wanted to know. I'm not out to steal anyone's secrets LOL.
Cheers,
Vince.

Absolutely no negative
aspersions on your post Vince - and i use gum leaves in the loo i'm such a greeny. It is just that there are loads of posts seeking help on locations rather than what's biting - though there's another thread that could be interactive. I still think a flat file on the site containing locations could assist a lot of members.
