land based hillaries?

whats the go for fishing hillaries? What do most people target when they head down? I was thinking of going down tonight or tomorrow arvo.
Do people generally fish from the rock wall or the beach? The beach looks like it might be a nice spot for some whiting? Maybe?
Any Info you could give me for fishing this area would be much appreciated!
Thanks!

Gday, welcome to the site.
Gday, welcome to the site. Hope it doesn't come across as rude but there is a wealth of info available on the internet, simply by googling "fishing perth" or similar,. Try sites like http://www.fishingwa.com/ and use the tabs at the top (how to fish, species, locations), you'll find a heap of info right there to give you a basis on the where, whys and hows of fishing in WA. Other sites to try include http://recfishwest.org.au/ (follow links "fishing in wa > how to catch" for list of target species and methods) and http://www.westernangler.com.au/ (again, there are links on how to target certain species etc). You should also check out http://www.fish.wa.gov.au/Fishing-and-Aquaculture/Recreational-Fishing/Pages/default.aspx (this is a link to the recreational fishing section, where you can find info on size limits, bag limits, and closed seasons; there's alot there, and you'll want to be familiar with atleast whatever you plan to catch so you don't break any rules and get in trouble, i.e. fines).
There is also a search function on here you can use (in the left hand margin there), and you'll find many basic or general questions have been asked and answered before (there's plenty on whiting). I say this because people can be reluctant to answer questions they've seen many times before, especially if it's a very general question that requires a lengthy response. It can also give the impression that you've made little or no attempt to find any answers for yourself and are instead expecting others to do the work for you. Again, not to be rude, just a heads-up. I've probably done it myself plenty of times.
There are also quite a few fishing reports put out every week, such as on the sites mentioned before, and also in the reports forum on this site. It pays to check them out to get an idea of what people are catching and where etc.
good luck

Hillary's disabled platform
Hillary's disabled platform can produce a wide variety of fish! Species such as whiting, skippy, herring, tailor, yellow tail, pike, juvenile snapper, buff bream to the bigger end of things like wobegongs, sharks, rays and the occasional Mulloway (but it's a once in a lifetime catch trust me
)... Really it depends which spot your fishing, how your fishing, what your fishing with and most importantly how much Berley do you have going; enough to produce a slick 80m wide stretching out to the reefs???
