Kalbarri on kayaks
Submitted by Spinnerak on Tue, 2011-03-08 13:47
Going to kalbarri these school holidays,
So we want to get some good size tailor and maybe a mulloway with it to, and we won't really use the kayaks to fish out of, just to get
to the other side of the river so we can fish the more remote locations like oyster rock.
Whats the best way to target these tailor, lures or bait and what tides are best.
Anything would be helpful,
Thanks,
Andrew

From Oysters
Popers, Lures, slices into the Champagne water near the break, or you can soak a gar with 4xhooks ganged. Inside of Oysters at the bend out to sea is also goos for Jacks. No luck on mulla in the sea (havent realy tried), but some soapies up river on the Oysters side off the river.
By that time the floods might have gone.

Yes plenty and big ones.
Just go to Red Bluff and cast into the bay with whatever you want to use and you should get into some Ocean gars or Robust gars.
