Juvenille Fish

Is it just me or is anyone else noticing a large number of Juvenile fish about at the moment? especially Pinks, dhus and reds too on the weekend.

Was fishing out around rotto over the weekend on some new found coral, and also a few stops on the way out, and wow was amazed at the amount of small fish about. Many small dhu'smany many many small pinks, and even small reds.

Sounder was lighting up like a xmas tree, and moving slightly everytime and constant juvies!!

decided to pop out the lighter gear (10lb) at the chance the bigger ones were a little shy or mouthing the baits and feeling the hooks.

Got blown away first drop :( then after that was double hookups of reds and small pinks. Got a nice red on light gear!! about a 10 min fight!!!.

Just thought its a good sign at the moment, in depths of 25m right out to 65m

Last couple trips out in different locations has also shown quite a few juvies out and about.

They look real healthy too!

And the schools of baitfish tightly balled up make the sounder look more like christmas, and some really large snapper (80cm+) mixed in, the number of small dhuies is amazing.
