Jurien Bay first timer

Hi guys, am new to this site.

I'm heading up to Jurien Bay soon for my first time, i'm towing 6.5m boat up

but I really have no idea where to fish.

Can someone lead me in the right direction/general area?,

Not really asking for Co-ords as I'm sure you guys aren't willing to give them away but they would be nice.

I've read all the landbased posts, but really want to get into some demersal/jigging action and maybe some macks if they are there

All advice appreciated.

I'll watch with interest

Hi mate,

I'm heading up at the end off the month for 1 1/2 weeks.

Staying at the caravan park, so i'll watch this thread with interest.

What I have bee told so far

There is plenty of ground in close around North Tail, apparently just anchor and burley, its on the charts so have a look otherwise theres the 1st & 2nd banks (20 mile out) but there is plenty of dead ground between North Tail and the banks. Theres also little pockets of small lumps and flat coral. Alot of fish to be caught. The wind might be the only factor.

I went up 15 odd years ago with not much experience and we cleaned up. Didn't have any spots or a gps, just sounded around at the back of the islands, found ground and caught fish.

Good luck and let us know how you go.

Cheers

Hi Ombak,

there has been a lot written about Jurien on the site.  Try the search function (click on search under the Fishwrecked banner at the top of the page).  I am sure you will turn up some useful tips.

Good luck.  Peter
