jigging for snapper/dhus

 can someone please tell me the best technique, jig, wieght ect for targeting dhus and pinkys? thanks

 everyone has their own technique. jig weight depends on depth. just keep changing untill you get a hit. watch lots of youtube vids.

 Down at Hamelin Bay over christmas i gave soft plastics a go and was the only thing that caught Dhuies. we had Western king wrasse and mullies down but they only took the white paddle tail softies on elevator jig heads as these give the opportunity to use heavier jig heads. 

hit the bottom and the drift will also make the tail movement but slight lift of rod then drop back down. If they are there they will hit.

jigging for Dhuies is easy peasy.

Its the finding that's the hard part

outfishes me on bait nearly every time we go out and makes it look easy

Main thing I've leant is keep moving spots - the old drifting big distances doesn't cut it when jigging - try a likely lump if nothing maybe drift same spot one or two more then move to next lump.
