Definitely some Darwinian moments going on around the place LOL I mean whale surfing for christ's sake !!!!
Here's a quick one from last Gamex , after the comp bringing the boat back from Tantabiddi , it was the young ladies first billfish as well

dont know much about coromandel snapper fishing...but taranaki ways, the fish are starting to spawn now, or at least getting ready to (snaps). a few all nighters will be getting done once the shut down is done over here..
Kings are still not here yet in numbers, as far as i know , again taranaki.
Trout well, enjoy it. The wather has been shocking here for the last cpl weeks but hopefully will be on the imrpoove.

You living in New Plymouth?
If you are give whitebaiting a go when the seasons on, great fun.
When we first left South Africa I was 12years old and we stayed in NP for 2 years before coming to Perth, and I loved all the fishing. Just couldnt easily get through the Kahawai to get to the YFtuna underneath. BBing around the 2 offshore island also got plenty off nannies (I think thats what they were) and great gurnards which didnt have the nasty stings as the local ones here do.
