cruising up the daly river

remote islands, she loved them
At home in a Pilbara creek with her first motor
ahh on her mooring at the montes, she went there 9 times in total
more creek living

Like loosing your best friend
Poor bugger, a little bit like loosing the old dog thats been by your side for years. Then after a while you get another one and if your lucky it will give you the same loyal service, lol

Always a sad time in a mans
Always a sad time in a mans life, I still see my old rig on a regular basis and wonder what I was thinking. On a side note I'm pretty sure I saw your boat and possibly yourself at the Shell roadhouse in K-town around 6 months ago now, The picture of the swags on the bimini made the penny drop.
It'll never seem as good as the old girl but there's always going to be another boat in your future mate, just have to find it.

What are you doing! Have you gone bananas??
That is a great boat. You must have some bigger plans if you are changing the girl.

I changed to the 115 HO from the 90 for the fuel eccenomy that it offered on those extended "fully loaded" trips. i put almost 1000 hours on the two etecs i had and i tell you what, i am getting another one! rate them very highly

Glad to see it wasn't a mechanical reason to change.
For the person who asked about the H.O motors it was explained to me when i got mine that they take the motors that dyno a little better and make sure they are in the upper 10% of power so you are more likely to get a 120hp+ than a 115hp then they re-map them a bit for top end running but they chew a little more oil as a price. the rush from 4000rpm to the top end was like a turbo on mine but she was oil thirsty and i had a few running dramas too. A good choice for those who want maximum grunt and max hp while still being covered with insurance.

probably pretty obvious i know, but in reality people should be checking what the rating is weight wise on their transom rather than the HP rating. 115's alone can vary in weight by as much as 20kg's between a few of the major brands for example. The HO as brucey rightly said is tuned to run a bit harder than the conventional 115.

Yeah i will definately have
Yeah i will definately have something else soon enough. it is an "inbetweeny" something to take advantage of the awesome flats, lakes and estuaries i have in my general area. I will hopefully be picking it up in the next week, here is a few of the pics. Hunter, the HO just has a little bit more that the conventional mate.
Will have to do a few things to the new rig to get her where i want her but it will be a lot of fun. will straight away be fitting her out with a gen2 HDS 8 and LSS1 side structure scan unit on the consol along with a HDS5 for the charts, and a separate Gen2 HDS5 unit on the bow. i cant wait to hit the great sandy straights as soon as we get some respite from all of this rain.

nothing to do with coin, just not the ideal rig for fishing the great sandy straits and lakes in the area. want to be able to take advantage of that for the time being.
