hey was just wondering if anyone could point us in the right direction or tell us the specifications that you need to have a fish capture to be worthy of being accepted into the igfa record books
i.e can braid be used for an igfa title
leader length(does that include a wind on)
how do you prove that the fish's lenghth and weight
any help would be appreciated

Igfa
You can't use braid.
All the requirements are on the website - like leader lengths etc as it all depends what class you are fishing.
You also need to be a member of an affiliated club.
You can claim a AAA record using any tackle. Just need to download the form have it weighed on registered scales and take pics of the fish for I'd and verification

IGFA
The use braid is OK under IGFA rules (unless there have been some recent rule changes I'm not aware of). The tricky bit is that many braids do not test at the stated breaking strains. If a record application tests over the line class it moves up unto the higher line class category. Some fishing clubs don't allow the use of braid in competitions but again the use of braid is IGFA legal.
