Not one for northern species but would guess blackspot over gold spot...but its one of the two.

Black spotted rock cod. Both gold spotted and black spotted rock cod over 1000mm or 30kg are protected.

 Picture doesn't show spots properly. They are definitely more gold than black, especially at the head section. Caught - and "mostly"landed by my 14 year old grandson. Was a crazy day. 4 way hookup first drop. 2 dhuies landed and 2 (suspect dhuies) dropped. tackle failure. No more dhuies after, but did get 2 nice KG's and 3 nice flathead
