I want to catch mullet for bait, any tips?

As the title says, I need mullet for bait.
I want to get them in the swan river but where would be the best spot for targeting them? After doing a bit of research, I made my own burley from water, flour, bread and even added a bit of soy milk in there because why not?
Is a float rig with a small longshank the best way to catch them? How long should the leader be?
Just trying to soak up as much info as possible.
Thanks.

Isn't just easier to get
Isn't just easier to get Herring for bait? Just as good or better as they have more blood and smell than a mullet. Some use corn kernels with some success apparently.

Not worth it
IMO its not worth chasing the mullet with baits. Alot of people say they catch them but i suspect they are actually hooking Pilch.
Unfortuantly you cant use a throw net in the Swan river, so your opptions are limited. If i want some for a mulloway session i go to a quiet beach and throw the net. I put them in a large esky with an air pump and take them home. If you dont put too many in the esky they will survive for a few days and i take them out as i need them.
Netting laws are a bit hard to understand and you need to read the guide properly to get an idea of the places you can throw a net. The guide wont tell you where you can do it, but tells you the places you cant.
Even when i throw the net i don't like people seeing me do it, they either get upset and have a go at me thinking its illegal or the next time i go there 20 people are throwing nets. So if you find a spot that holds small mullet, and you can legally throw a net, keep it to yourself or people will rape the area. Also bag limits apply to mullet, so 30 is your max bag per person.

I have a reliable spot east
I have a reliable spot east of point walter, catch mullet around 30cm every time. today I was down there burlied them uo got 7, 30cm mullet and a bream. use a small red and white float to a tiny hook with a tiny split sinker. use white bread for bait. burley with the crusts and wait until the bread is dry so you can form a dough on the hook.
Fishing and catching are two different things. But i want to learn how to catch.

Every single time that I
Every single time that I have been to rossmoyne, shelley and sometimes near mount henry, there are mullet jumping and lots of them too. I also have seen schools of bream smashing the baby ones and maybe some soapies do it too? Anyway I saw some guy spinning lures for mullet which I thought was odd but he got lots and lots si it's just a matter of getting one on the hook
Fishing the swan for bream, it's just an obsession

Try this one
Google "using fluro tube to catch mullet". Some peeps have been known to get a fat assed fluro tube to catch em. Chop one end off wash out the white poo from the insides so it becomes a clear tube. Stuff some bread down the end of the tube, put it in the water and presto ( hopefully ) Mullet speed in to get bread snacks can't back out... Poddy heaven...
