im looking for mulloway spots mossie bay i recon will get some but not sure where in there havn't had any luck for them at point walter i keep getting my baits taken even live baits ? is 1 hook or 2 better for mulloway?
hey bro, never fished for mulloway that far up the river but heard plenty of stories of them caught that way so i cant help you with spots, i usually go e-shed or just in front of the traffic bridge near the left bank, just on the port side of the bridge is a limestone bank, you'll see people fishing or even swimming there during the day, but there is quite a quick drop off after the bank and obviously the bridge footings are just next to it too.
if your fishing flesh strips, i think 2 hooks work best, circle hooks, and snell them, but if your using livies just go for one! if your in the river your probably gonna have a hard time getting your baits nabbed, so i think livies are the go, especially at e-shed, theres slimies there so mulloway are always gonna choose them over other offerings! just a bit crowded there when theyre running! at that spot near the bridge, if you can score some small (legal) tailor they are good, but a really good bet is whiting!! if the mullas are there, they'll take all the whiting you can throw at em! those little blade vibes are dinamite on the whiting, might be a pain in the ass chasing whiting up and down and then trying to keep em alive, but if you keep a big tub in the car with an aerator going, park in those spots near the red herring, and walk that bank between there and that little boat shed a hundred meters up. theres little gutters in the sand along there running in different directions, so cast those vibes around and youll hopefully get enough to keep you going for a while. you can also spin up tailor along there. depending on how you feel about it, if you snorkel along there youll find seahorses......... just sayin
other than that man, same as what everyone else says, fish the tides, fish the moon, fish when your not away on the mines or whatever, just keep fishing, youl get one!
thanks for that ive fished just down from the bridge a few times at that terminal that roto boats use do pretty good for whiting there with the suicide hooks have had a few runs there but nothing big landed yet
