Hows this set up?

Im pretty new and just expanding my arsenal as you do. Ive been after something quite light for targeting bream, but also other light species whiting herring etc to have fun with, so i got my hands on a tierra 2500, but now im at a loss as to what rod to pair her up with. Hows a Pflueger Trion 2-4kg. In 6'6" or 7", whats the difference/benefits?
Is this set up any good?
cheers

go 7' mate, reason being its a 2500 size reel and a 6'6" wouldnt feel right, the butt will be to heavy, where else a 7'rod will balance it out more evenly. if you live north of river, come down to the tackle shack in malaga, ill sort you out with a nice rod and give you a great price.

I used to be a big fan of shorter rods, I guess because I catch the train a fair bit and you wan't something compact for that work but since then I have been using 7 foot models for just about everything.
It has that slight advantage in casting distance, but becomes more inaccurate the longer the rod is. With lighter lures I find I can get up to a couple of meters extra distance.
Shorter models are great for boat work though, less effort on the angler. The difference between a 6'6" and a 7' would be very small.
Either way you will love the tierra on the trion, a combo that will do just about everything you need it to do.
Oh and the 7 foot model is better for squidding ;)

Defintely go the 7' mate. I have a light tierra spin stick which i use for Bream, and freshwater use. Its a really nice rod, would match really with the 2500.
