Holiday up north advice please
Hi all, we have made a last minute decision to go on a camping holiday up North in a weeks time, for 3 weeks. I won't be towing the boat, but taking a camping trailer. I have never been higher than Kalbarri so this trip will be all new to me. We hope to go from Perth, thru to Newman, Karijini, Millstream, Point Samson, Exmouth, Canarvon, and stops along the way back to Perth. I hope to do some fishing landbased, nothing to serious, just some light gear fun. What would I need to buy and take in regards to lures and tackle. I have a couple of 6 ft light gear rods with aprox 15 pound braid. Also where could I try to do some fishing in the areas along the coast from Point samson down back to perth, places where I can park the car with the camper trailer, let the kids have some fun in the sand/dirt, missus can read a book in a chair while I can flick some lures around? And if anyone has any advice for the trip, whatever it may be, maybe awesome places to see, or not to see, don't hesitate to let me know, as I have never been up there before. Thanks in advance.

Karijini
Think others would be more helpful than me for LB fishing up that way but, you'll love karijini my bit of advice is don't leave anything on the ground outside after dark! its awesome all the dingos begin patrolling the campsites at dales gorge as soon as the sun sets. They were very timid with humans when we were there but if you leave shoes or anything out at night you'll never see em again. Kids will love it.
Sorry can't offer much on fishing but we used to do pretty good at learmonth jetty just south of exmouth. We'd catch hardy heads with bait chasers and live bait em in the shallows, used to get a few queenies there and shark mackerel. Lots of info in town at the camping store and bluewater, they have a printed out guide to landbased.

freezing
When I went to Karijini this time of year is was bloody freezing with the easterlies blowing, water must have been negative as well. Other thing about leaving things out, if it gets dewy all your stuff gets majorly wet and makes packing up a nightmare.
As for lures around Exmouth, 3 to 5 inch soft plastics on a 1/4 to 1/2 oz jig head are always good. Also have a silver twisty or two in there, 30 grams will probably suffice just incase you see some queenies or likely looking baitfish.

See this for around Karratha

Lots of discussion about Exxy on here. Just search. But any of the Beaches on the West side are good for a flick, and the gulf side often have some Whiting and smaller trevors and Queenies. Learmonth Jetty at high tide a yes. And dont forget the Squid jig. The kids can play on the ample beach around Learmonth, and there is even a long drop loo for the Mrs. Its easy fishing with a nice place to stand, and not a very long walk. Make sure you dont go on the jetty with bare feet. The deck on the place will turn your soles into a chessboard.
Got to stop in on Denham, Monkey Mia on the way back. Others on here know these areas better, and I am sure they will assist.

Pt Samson
Definetely worth staying at Pt Samson- very nice. Waroora(Warra) is a great place to camp- but you said you only had a car so it limits your options there a little bit.
Enjoy!

out the back of point samsom
out the back of point samsom is pretty godo land based, behind the caravan park on the rocks. Some BIG queenies out there on the high tide, managed to get smoked a few times on the light gear but meter + queenies on poppers... never stopped one of them :(
Point samsom causeway is also another place to take a look on the high tide, plenty of people fish there tho. Can often pick up smaller queenies on plastics, some flatties at times and jacks. Will quite often see BIG bluebone swimming around the rocks, but never heard of one taking a bait there.

Thanks for those who replied
Thanks for those who replied but what hard body lures would be usefull. I watched a FWA dvd where Ryan went to Broome flicking lures around. Which ones would they be? Maybe if you read this Ryan you may recall and advise.
Cheers.

poppers or stickbaits around
poppers or stickbaits around the 10cm mark give or take a few in the kit, bomber lures as well and a couple of RMG scorpians in the shallow divers will work but i'm with Adam, get some 5 inch SP's and 1/4 to 1/2 oz jig heads and have a blast, queenies and trevs love them!

Hey there are lots of spots
Hey there are lots of spots up there you could also fish the Marina at point sampson and sight cast at the Queenies form there. The kids will love Learmoth Jetty in Exmouth where you can see the schools of bait getting smashed. You could take some sabiki bait chasers for there and get some prawns just drop off the side of the jetty and catch bream a blast for the kids.
Remember to watch the tide they are as bit as on TV the tide will come in soo fast you will get wet trying to beat it if you dont watch it.
Remember Bushies areo gard cause in some of the mentioned spots the sand flies are killers.
