Should be able to get something decent for that
Why don't you pop in and see Ryan at Oceanside, or David and John out at Joondalup. They have the good gear.

What are you aiming for on
What are you aiming for on the rocks, If you go for a heavier set up, you lose the fight that you will get from the bream. And thats the whole reason for targeting them IMO, light line to get a bit of fight

I got a rod and reel to suit
I got a rod and reel to suit both 4lb and 10lb (well, the rod is 6-10lb I think). The reel had two spools, so I loaded one up with 4lb and the other with 10lb. Most stuff on the beach/rocks you could deal with 10lb I would think. Of course something really big could come by, but then perhaps you could get spooled on 20lb as well?
Since upgraded the reel to something smaller and smoother. Was using a 2500 size (a nexave) then changed to a sol 2000. Havent used the nexave for a while :p (but it seemed like a good size and was a good price, just got a more expensive taste, hehe)

Snapper off the Rocks!
On 2-4kg spin gear, your gonna have a bloody blast when one whopper jumps on. Just hold on and steer clear of rocks! I could say, I caught small Pinks (20-30cm) off the rocks on 2kg gear and I could tell ya, it was already hard enough to stop it.
Have fun...
Cheers lads,
Darda. H
