help line removal method

hi guys just wondering if there is a easy method of taking good line off a reel and putting it back onto a empty plastic line spool because its still good but want to change it to a heavier line its easy to put on but there must be a better method than reeling it up like a handline .cheers

you could store it on an old reel that you don't use. Otherwise i have heard of people attaching the spool that came with the line to a chordless drill and winding it on with it...

Now has anyone found a clean and simple way of attaching a plastic spool to the drill?  I've always used lots of tape around the drill bit and spool but have often thought there must be an easier way.

Put a bolt thru the spool,

Put a bolt thru the spool, do a nut up against it, gripping the spool. Then put the bolt in the chuck.

Slack buggers, don't tell me its too hard to sit down and wind a little bit of line off, its not as though its an every day thing.

Movie or footy on the box and a beer close at hand couldn't be better.

Not if you turn the spool over every 15-20 turns.

one prob with that is it

one prob with that is it requires thinking about what your doing, with a drill it is all over in a very short time which would leave more time to do more important things

If he's anything like me he will have half full spools of line everywhere, now what was this one, 15 or 20,or this one here, is this 30 or 50?

Usually end up having a big clean out and binning the lot only to start again not long after.
