A marina just down the road. A good pub just down the road. Can't lose.

You can moore i think on

Thu, 2008-09-25 10:42

You can moore i think on almost any mooring, but if the owner comes along (Or someone on the owners guest list) you must move.

Guy i work with owns a mooring out there, and told me yesterday this is the way its done.

Hi Ya, Before you buy in

Thu, 2008-09-25 14:04

Hi Ya,

Before you buy in Mindarie, talk to Tony Haliday.  I know he had all sorts of problems with people vandalising his stuff including some halfwitt removing all the  wheel nuts off his creewman one night.

A woman I work with lives there as well.  Says she and family regularly shut up and put up so not to get into troube.

From all reports, not the best place to live.

Cheers.

Mindarie????

Fri, 2008-09-26 15:04

I think you will find he was closer to Clarkson than Mindarie.

My friend that I fish with just about every weekend lives in Mindarie and has never had any problems with vandals or break ins.

The prestige side of Perth

Thu, 2008-09-25 22:51

Welcome to the Prestige side of Perth Harro. You can moore on the beach at Rotto on the Thompsons, Geordie and Longreach bays. If your doing it all the time definately get a yearly session pass. You need to goto the admin and purchase a pass which you stick on your boat. I do it all the time and have had no problems. Fueling at Rotto is somewhat expensive and can get rather rough on windy days. Try and fuel up on the West side of the fuel jetty.

Cheers

Don't believe all you hear

Fri, 2008-09-26 00:09

Mindarie is a nice place but.......don't buy anything too near the car park cos of Hoons keeping you up all night and the main trouble comes from the pub's but you'll get that everywhere.  stay off the main drag and you'll be right.

Does this mean I can take you up on your offer of a trip out?

Oh, on a final note I believe mooring fees at Mindarie are about $1000 a year and there is a waiting list.

Sure do, what makes it worst

Fri, 2008-09-26 08:28

Sure do, what makes it worst is that if you drive over in a big boat with a smaller registered boat as a tender, you in theory have to pay 2 landing taxes. No one ever does but one time i took the duck from parker (where we were staying) to Thomo and wanted to pen it at Bathurst beach, to do this I had to pay landing again... Also you still have to pay landing fee's each time you come over in a ferry ($15) or something. Thats not even talking about the bayseeker that now costs $10 for an all day pass! Now youve got me started.
