Kalbarri has everything you

Kalbarri has everything you could want. Great fishing, perfect for the family.............except there's no work. Finding it real hard to get work. The building industry has come to a massive halt, probably a 1/4 of the professional boats ( cray, wet line, charter ) from when i first moved here nearly 5 years ago. But a great place to live and just awesome for the kids

Cheers Mick

bloody great. as long as you can tolerate the BMW drivers and weekend property speculators.
haha
nah - takes a little bit of knowledge but always possible to go an extra 10-20 mins and geta beach/track/space to yourself.
wish i grew up there, but been loving it since i got smart enough to shift in 2000.
Rio fly crew in/out of Busso from 3 of their sites. not from my site but the drive is worth it once you get there.
here's to a 6 day holiday every 2 weeks!

I'd look at staying just north of Geraldton. Good working options now with the Karra mining project, new port and rail lines going in. Housing not to bad and you with in reach of Kalbarri and other awsome fishing spots in hours.
Plus the Weather is a dam side better than down south.

yeah I still can't spell, I count pretty dam good!
That project will open up a whole new ball-game for the region and with rail line loadings looking more and more like multi-type ores, others like Uranium, Nickel and Copper deposits become viable projects piggy-backing on the rail.

Karratha/Dampier for sure

Thu, 2010-08-19 13:32

Not the best for teenage kids up as there is little to do but cause mischief. Great for below that.

Does get hot as hell but indoors all good and swimming cools you down. Doesn't stop the fishing. Great camping when the heat is off.

BUT- you will need a job with accomadation. No normal person can walk into town, rent a house and find a job. It is the other way around for sure.

But the good news, there is always jobs because of the turnover in workers and projects everywhere. This does depend a lot on Satuday, and I hope Australia make the right choive.

Tony is probably

on the money. There is a bit of opportunity in Bunbury but Busso is dead unless you want to clean toilets, wait on tables or prune vines. Karratha is hot and not much for the family - don't know about Exy. Only problem with Geraldton is wind and more wind.

Been in Gero for the last eleven years from Bunbury, The fishing is outstanding, the climate great and the ppl friendly, would I move back down south, no chance.

It may be windi in the summer, but you can work around that, every time you put a line in the water you dont know what you are going to get.

Work opportunities are good

I wont be moving any time soon
