Trick question

I bought a JS which is already wired for the HDS 5 fishfinder/chart plotter. (the unit was stolen of the Ski).

I have a brand new elite 5 fishfinder\chart plotter.

which is the better unit for open water.

I.E do I swop the elite 5 out for the HDS or go to the hassle of re-wire\fitting the ski out for the Elite 5.

some info from the Fundi's would be great.
