Good spots around Albany ?

Hi All, Im headed down to Albany xmas / new year with the family and looking for tips on where to fish. I am looking for advice on 2 fronts. Firstly, good comfortable fishing for the kids, and secondly ( and most importantly ) some spots for myself for a couple of solo missions, ie some serious beach or rock fishing. I am aware of a spot called
Cheynnes Beach but it is 40mins out from Albany I think, and time may be a factor. What kind of fish should I target at this time of year ? Not really sure what is around down there ? Some nice tailor would be good, but open to all suggestions.
Hope you guys can help.
Cheers.

spinners
charter would be worth trying for a day of bottom bouncing. Cheynes beach is best if you have a boat.
Fishin for a feed and fun.

Just about anywhere is worth
Just about anywhere is worth a shot. For the kids take them and a bag of burley to emu point and fish of the jetty where all the boat are, hours of enjoyment on skippy, black bream, yellowtail ect ect ( the kids are also catching your bait for your solo missions after bigger stuff) cheynes is good but hit and miss some times. Sand patch out near the wind farm is good for gummy sharks and mulloway after dark and the Kalgan river for mulloway to. For rock fishing past the lighthouse at cable beach into the deep water is awesome for big land based sambos at times just weather on that side can be scary.
always looking for a new challenge!!
