Gear ID for cray pots

Hi lads
Just got myself a couple of pots n a licence for the season, just wondering what my ID number is to put on float and pot? Is it just my licence number?
on the licence receipt the gear ID section is empty?

abbo 05 your gear id should
abbo 05
your gear id should be your initial of your chrsitian name and surname , month of your birth and year of your birth
so if your john brown born in nov of 1980
it will be
JB1180
if you are of aboriginal descent and have claimed such on your licence, then im sure from memory you must just put the letter A in front of your gear id
id check with fisheries though to be sure mate

The easiest way to put the numbers on is to burn them in with an electric soldering iron.

and after u stamp your floats do the same to your pots this might help stamp out those who think they own your pots.
