Garden Island Today

Hey guys
Did anyone go out today and manage some fish?
Left woodies at 845 because we got there early thinking that it would be packed with no trailer bays
bastard of a NE wind with decent swell hammering us to the back of garden
Someone forgot bait so soft plastics it was. only a few small flathead- one sliced my finger just as i was letting it go, one fat pink snapper 26cm and a few reefies on gulps.
Trolled with a few hits but no hook ups.
Mid afternoon wind died right off and gave the boat a good run to see how fast it would go. 70km/h at 5000 RPM.
Anyone have better luck?

we were out from ocean reef
we were out from ocean reef and we got lots of hits trolling the back of the reef (but no hookups). So we anchored up on a spot we got most of the hits, and threw a few baits down finding out it was a huge school of small sambos 60cm ish. so we had a bit of fun on light tackle and jigs. didnt get anything for the table, but still a nice day (after that strong morning wind backed off)
