garden island /carnac

hi guys i was thinking of doing some night fishing behind garden island or carnac can anyone tell me whats out there and how far from the islands is best to fish as i hav'nt been fishing there before and what fish are out there at night or sunrise all help appreciated thanks

hi sharkie......i strongly suggest you go for a couple of daylight runs at the back of GI before you do a night fish......i have seen the five fathom become pretty treachorous even in daylight.......

big swells behing garden island
hi sharkie, be careful behing garden island. like pjay said do a couple of day runs, lots of reefs just under water going past garden island

same as the other guys
same as the other guys said,
but out on the bank a few months ago just on dusk we got a 86cm 9kg pinky on a floating bait in 8mtrs of water.
the same night i lost 3 big runs and they were not rays, way to much head shake for rays.
yes it was my rigs that failed every time...i no longer use them rigs(they were bought rigs)

Garden island
Im keen for a day trip out the back there but bit shy of reef, is there a clean path to get out there? is it safe or

Is pretty easy to get out
Is pretty easy to get out with a decent gps and a card for the area but there are lots of bommies at the northern end of the island safest way would prob be leaving from point perron and go around the southern end u can get into clear water easily that way.
