Does anyone have a furuno 3kw in a wet box? I recently purchased one and I would like to know what results you are getting? The other transducer is a 2 kw 200Khz.

The 200khz will run OK in a wet box, the 38khz will not. Refer to some of my earlier posts concerning these transducers and mounting locations. We have installed them in wet boxes, transom mounted and wet faced and tested the same by hanging the transducers over the side of the boat to directly compare with a wet box installation. If you are going to the expense of buying the transducers then install them in a fairing block.

I run a r299 in a wet of on my cat
And it reads bottom clear as mud out deep 500m at 10 knots and I still get clear signal its hard to wet face such big trannies on a cat. So I had to go wet box , if you can go wet faced it will always be better than wet boxed

Seaswirl, sure do .... I have Furuno 3KW 28khz and a 2kw 200khz in a wetbox and it works perfectly. I get good results and I didnt entertain the option of wetface in my F/G boat as no need to IMO!
