Fuel (and other) thefts this week FYI
Submitted by pelagicyachts on Mon, 2019-08-26 13:34
Just an FYI crew, we had some late night visitors at the yacht club (RPYC)at some point over the last week, I had ~100-150 litres of fuel siphoned out and the boat next to me did as well, the boat on the other side not so lucky, looks like they have gone in and ransacked it looking for gear.
The yacht club is reviewing CCTV but suspect little will come of it............

nah they have followed
nah they have followed another car in and waited until everyone left, i was speaking to my mechanic yesterday who, like most, does a bit of work for insurance companies (regarding claims assessment) he said the police are just too busy with more serious crime and they don't have the time to investigate this sort of stuff - he had a ~20k theft claim he provided quotes for and the police did not even attend.
bit of a worry - essentially it means its a free for all...

I know it is expensive
In the short term it is expensive to have some one as an on site security person however, all the other security measures are post event measures.
if the club can have just a roving patrol around the club after hours and make themselves highly visible it may stop this crap happening in the first place.
