Flatrock, The full story!
We headed off friday late afternoon to fish flatrocks, with a quick feed of mackers so we could set up camp before sundown. A word of warning, when travelling with Mr Sherbert dont follow to close through the bush tracks as you might put your new 4x4 into a limestone wall when entering the beach. Forgot to tell you about that one he reacons! After spending an hour or so setting up camp (steve brings half of bcf with him) with finally wet a line as the sun was setting. Some of Spess's burley did the trick as steve landed 8 fish to my 0. Good size herring and the odd tailor. Mind you i was 10 beers up! Had a early night to get up at 2am for a fish, even though it was still blowing its arse off so i went back to bed. Awoke at 4.30am and got straight into it. Steve wonders down to get a head start only to return soaked from head to toe as a wave has hit him head on first cast! Shit he looked funny, something like a drouned 53 year old rat. I caught up quickly and a double header had me one fish down by breakfast. Andrew was the cook (steves son) and did a wonderfull job. I cracked another stubbie and decided to do some ballooning so me and steve sent out some whole herring and blue mackeral baits and berleyed hard but to no avail nothing touched them. By this stage i waas aleast 2 fish up on him and let alone a carton of teds and a few scotches. Wind picked up again so nothing but herring could be landed again. Steve decided to have a few burbourns to catch up and i started to get worried, he neally fell into a reef hole and only the neck was gone, i thought i might have to put the poor pensioner to bed.LOL. All in all im pretty sure i was up at the end, fish and beer but a VERY ENJOYABLE COUPLE OF DAYS. To the many other fisherman that where there at the same time, please make sure you know how to drive in the beach as putting my rod down to un bog you guys pisses me off slightly. One or two is ok but four in a weekend thats rediculous. ( 2 on the way home!) My pleasure to fish with Sherbert and the others and have to do it again soon. Hopefully with a few mulloway and sharks throwen in for good messure, oh yeah Steve dont forget to bring that 10 year old bottle of burbourn again ill help you to finish it off this time! And ill return the tonne of sand out of my swag and ute!

Gold! Sounds like it was a good weekend fellas, bit of bad luck on the big fish front, but it certainly sounds like the booze made up for it.
I also heard a mention of someone falling off their chair, too pissed to stand up or something??? ;)))
