Quite often find myself in Ocean Reef and have always wondered if you can catch much not far out or off the beach somewhere. Any methods could help.

At the marina theres decent
At the marina theres decent tailor off the south wall. Fishing straight into the seabreeze usually produces tailor ,I've caught a genuine 2kg tailor off there. Also got a huge tarwhine straight out the back. The usual suspects (herring, gardies, whiting) can be caught off anywhere there. And the tip is ok for tailor and snook but dont usually have much success there. Inside the harbour theres small tarwhine, whiting and yellowtail. Also big mullet feed inside there so some bits of bread on a small hook can land a few.

im not sure when it is but once the salmon start passing by metro like Ocean Reef, the mullet dont jump but the fly they dont stop and all of them why? becasue there are salmon eating them i thought why dont i try catch a mullet one day so i rode my bike to the harbour with some lures meant for freshwater bass :O and flicked it out. 2nd cast i hooked and landed about a 3kg salmon it was HUGE!
