Fishing NZ (North Island, South East Coast new Plymmoth)

Mooving there for 6 months on may 14th for work...not to happy but going to make the most of it.

Anyone ever fished around here? Going to try and get into some fly fishing if possible in the winter months (it will be cold!!!)..Might take a weekend to charter some boats for those massive SBT follwoing prawn tralwers, we will see!

Any info would be appreciated.

The sbt's are way down the bottom. New Plymouth is nice. Kind of a retirement seaside town. Lots of snapper and ytks not far offshore.
Lots of kiwis though....
