Fishing Deep from Dawesville / Mandurah

Is there anyone out there that is interested in some Blue eye and Hapuka Fishing from Dawesville. I have a 34 Randell but lack a crew that's interested in throwing in for some fuel and heading out to the shelf.
Bit much for a single person to be doing.
Have just come back from Mackay Qld after 3 years and brought the boat March this year.
Spent 25 years in Byron Bay and Coffs Harbour and done a lot of Game fishing and shelf bottom fishing there with heaps of good fish over the years. Lived in Geraldton for couple years fished the Abrohlos and around Ningaloo, Yardi Creek.

Anyway, anyone interested ??? and even taking a couple of boats out would be good
I am currently on leave (have been since Feb, hard life !!!!) as I work in the Civil/ mining industry and can fish through the week if anyone else is in the same boat ( pun)

Count me in mate. Would love to have a shot at the deep stuff. I've got the boat to do it now, just have to upgrade the sounder.

I'm my own boss so mid week suits too. Used to live just south of Coffs.. SWRocks, used to deckie occasionally targeting Blue eye & Grey Band out of there.

Cheers

Chris

Tagging along / fishing tackle

Wed, 2013-07-17 16:28

Hi Paul T.
There is plenty of tackle for sale on the auctions at ebay.
The quality in some cases is just as good as the leading brands but not well known so most people tend to shy away from them. I know also that there is a fair bit of peer pressure out there in the way of the brand of gear that is used by long time fishermen. I have been there
It is fine to spend hundreds of $ on good gear if you use it all the time as it does stand up and is a proven product but for the occasional fisherman the cheaper alternatives will more than do the job.
A couple of online places are fishing-deals-au or premium-fishing-auctions.
Cheers

As a last resort if you lack crew, PM me. I'm in Bunbury and have worked on Longliners years ago. I also have all the game gear and deep drop gear along with rigs.

Give us a shout if you are venturing out.
