Hi guys
Can anyone help me I have been hijacked into the position of record keeper for a new fishing club Port Bouvard recreational and Sporting Club (fishing section) and I'm looking for some free software to keep the competition results on and will update the winners progressivly. It must be able to have date, species, weight, and name of competitor and be able (if possible) to update the info as it is put in any help would be most appreciated
Oh and one other thing it must be able to be used by someone who is not computor literate (thats me)
thanks in advance for any help possible

Can you just put it in an excel spreadsheet? The only 'fancy' thing you'd need is the score calculation (which is trivial for someone else to setup). You could have drop downs for names and species (the list goes on another sheet)
Were you wanting it to have more functionality or was basic enough?

Got just what you need...I think
I've written two systems in Microsoft Access that might be appropriate for you, and I'm happy to let you have. One is written for the Australian Anglers Association State Championships, with versions for Beach and Rock, another for Estuary and yet another for Boat Fishing. These don't record individual species weights, only the number of species and total bag weight. It's configurable for the points per species and points per KG. This system is designed for bulk numbers, and is probably overkill for your club. You need to assign competition numbers to your competitors, then use that number when data entering. It also handles teams, which again you probably don't need.
The second Microsoft Access system is written for our club (Ocean Reef Sea Sports Club). Again there is a version for Beach and Rock, and Boat fishing. This system handles individual species, with data entry of individual fish weights. ORSSC only allows 1 of each species to be weighed, with bonus points if its the heaviest, so individual weights are required. The Beach and Rock system is configured with the same species a the AAA State Beach and Rock species list...that's what our club fishes. Boating is a cutdown species list. Again configurable for points per species etc. There are reports for monthly and annual results, plus others for heaviest of species etc
One of these might suit you. If it sounds like it might, say so and we'll discuss offline.
