Fishing Cheynes rocks with swell

Hi all just wondering what the rocks at cheynes beach are like with a bit of swell around going down in the morning for a night also anyone been there over past week any action ?

5.5m swell forecast. You're probably better off fishing inside the corner of the bay, otherwise you will more than likely just become another statistic. Still a few salmon around, but there's always something biting down there.

Yea cheers mate it says 4.5 on willy weather but I'm not that stupid if its too rough I'm not fishing I was hoping the island would shelter it

Cheynes!
I was there a week ago and got plenty of salmon.......the " swell forecast " was high when I fished it but there was bugger all!
Doesnt seem to come into that area and impact (what I experienced) ...... JMO .... all the best!!!

Fished off the rocks in a 4.5m swell at Cheynes over 3 days with no worries. Pick the right place and you're fine.
I spent 3 days marvelling at how flat it was when the swell was so high. You could see the swell out to sea, but calm near the rocks.

Don't take chances....
King waves can come at any time. If I'm fishing off rocks in any conditions I wear an inflatable life jacket and have a personal Epirb on my belt. Costs less than a good reel.

Ps. Personal Epirbs will work in water so long as you hold them out of it so they can get a satellite signal.
