fisheries at rotto
been over at rotto all day doing a charter and was chatting with the local fisheries officers over there! they have been busy, busted a cpl boats with undersize dhuis and over bag limits. Will these peanuts never learn! they were saying that unfortunately because of the hours they work most get away with it as they wait till dark to come back in with their catch but they were getting a few today! wont say how they were doing it but it is a very effective method and seems to be working so if any of you know of any guys that got nabbed today over here tell em to suck eggs cos thats wot you get for doing the wrong thing! Good to see they are trying their best with what they have to work with! and the note pad was filling up when we were there! so beware if you think you can get away with it cos you might just be suprised!

don't believe they only work
don't believe they only work office hours
i've seen them on overtime, nabbing someone.
If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

fisheries presence is
fisheries presence is definitely being felt more and more. I was near rotto yesterday morning and finished up near GI early arvo, and they were popping up all over the place.
Its awesome to hear that people are being nabbed this early in the season as well.

Good to see all our licence monies are finally being put to a good cause and not some government slush fund

Was fishing down by the river
Was fishing down by the river and was stopped by a couple of friendly officers for the first time this year. Maybe they were waiting for the sun to come out.
In all seriousness, The more visible they are and the more fines they hand out, the more effective they will be. Some guys will go to greater lengths to beat them, but hopefully it will cause a few to rethink things.

Before the ban came in, I was
Before the ban came in, I was doing a bit of night fishing as it was the only free time I could get to go for a fish and two fisheries officers met me at the Point Perron boat ramp. It was 11pm but no problems. They did look a little sleepy though

Good on em
There's always some dumb arrogant pricks that choose to ignore the rules that have been put in place for a reason. Those blokes that got caught can take a shit and fall back in it.. Hope they lose their boats and vehicles.

Yeah good work by them
Yeah good work by them getting some guys. The more of them around the better.
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.
