Looped this fella near Rotto today while freediving for crays. Obviously a Flathead of sorts, species type?

Also known as a Rock Flathead?
Look like what we used to see among the scattered rocks and kelp when I was ab diving in south oz--you could stab them through the head with an ab iron if you were quick

Well there goes the world in a basket
So! what that means that the days of kids walking along in the water near keans point with a gidgie and carbide lamp getting a feed of cobbler, flathead, flounder, mullet and if you where quick a few prawns. Have been banned by some do gooder who is on a crusade. Yes I know about the ban on taking cobbler in the Swan and Canning, that's based on science and is IMO a sound decision, but to ban what has always been a kids right of passage is just rubbish. When did the use of pointed objects banned.
When I was a kid it was something you always looked forward to doing on a Saturday night, along with trapping the water rats at the jetty and surroundings. I suppose that has now been banned as well.
Beam me up scotty the end of the world is nearly upon us.
