I need help trying to Id a fish, I was behind Garden Island about 1 mile.I caught a fish that was shaped almost like a diamond it was about 45 cm long. Someone said it was a sweep fish? They said it was not even good enough for bait? Any ideas.

It was black and white and had striped liked a zebra, was also a little fat?

they are more football
they are more football shaped
. some people eat them but they arent very good 1 star on eating . the deep sea sweep are better on the tooth at 2 star , same shape but no stripes

I've used them for berley
I've used them for berley before, never eaten one =)
