Fish Deaths Wonnerup Estuary

We're just having more fish deaths in the Wonnerup Estuary System . There's a toxic algal bloom killing them off.

There was something on the news a couple of days back about then setting up automatic sentinels to send out alarms if the oxygen levels dropped so the could open the flood gates but sadly like all the other times , its too late

more like all the bullshit.

Personally I reckon it's all the bullshit coming from CoB polluting the lower Vasse and killing the fish in the wetlands. It's hard enough for the ratepayers to survive the shit that's happening at the moment.

Blame

Thu, 2014-02-06 15:34

Howard, I think we will blame my two mates who live a couple of houses apart on Fairlawn drive right opposite the estuary for pissing in there.

Mind you, one of them used his backhoe a few years back to cut a channel through to prevent the same thing happening when the mouth sanded up.

Shane Miles caught some Mullet on the Wonnerup Beach in the ocean Tuesday morning and their fins were red and they were bleeding from the gills. Just shows how unhealthy the eco-system is at the moment.

Escapees

Thu, 2014-02-06 18:13

They would have come out as the water quality dropped and straight in to Shane's net.

Pity the ten thousand others couldn't escape and have a fighting chance. All this because some Govt prick is too lazy to drive round , have a look and take some water samples, once a week would have prevented it.

Next time you run in to Shane and Smithy say gday from John in Carnarvon, they'll know who it is.

Been a lot of years since I have seen Allen, did a salmon season with Shane at Hamelin and Bunkers around 10 years ago.
