Hard to take that seriously; Jigging, trolling, popping for gts, and bottom bounce too.

Did you think you missed something there?

But seriously, where are you going to need a 20k for bottom bouncing? I think a 20k would weigh twice what my whole outfit for dmersal jigging does.

Trolling with spinners sucks (with the possible exception of switchbaiting).

Popping reels need a high gear, and not really even that high a capacity.

Jiggers need a low gear, and probably much higher capacity as well.

pretty harsh till

either will do the job just as well as the other, i prefer saltiga but thats just my personal choice.

i have used a 6500 expedition for sambo jigging, and plan to use it popping for large GT's ( cant justify the expense of another $1000+ reel at the moment when this one will do ) ive also used this reel trauling and have caught tuna and mackies on it, pretty heavy and definately overkill but it can do the job fine.

as till said its mass overkill especially for bottom bashing, i prefer a 3500 for that but it will do the job if you only have the budget for one decent reel

hope this helps a bit

something worth thinking about is maybe looking at a smaller reel.... a saltiga 4500 might do what you need and be a good compromise giving you less weight and good muscle.... as i said above i mostly use a saltiga 3500 and its bloody amazing, im constantly amazed at what this small reel is capable of :-)

Stella!

I use Stella reels and I rate them highly!

I use the Stella 20000 for GT popping and more than enough line retreive for popping but the low down torque is great on big fish!

That reel can be used for pitching baits/tease & switch/bottom bouncing/jigging etc  ;)

I have a dogfight and was

I have a dogfight and was going through the same dilemma with what I wanted, both are just as good as the last but I prefer the daiwa, I use mine for jigging, bottom bouncing trolling casting baits for sharks ect I just put 60lb on it so I can still cast easily with it and have a few rods to chose for it so I can use it for everything. But this is a big reel and as said above a 3500-4000 size stops almost everything ( I use a certate 3500). Hope it helps.

Quality of both is outstanding, only real difference is that the expedition has 30 kg of drag, Stella has 25 not that you'll ever need more than that.

I have the old model

I have the old model expedition plus a couple of new model Stellas. The expedition is brilliant and it's splitting hairs but I feel the Stella is just a little better. On the size issue, unless you are after a lot of line capacity getting a smaller size would be better, say a 10000 Stella. I can't comment on the new model Saltigas but you should check out the Alan Hawk website with not only the reviews but his list of the premium spinners. If I were to buy another medium size to big spin reel I would actually get a Penn Torque. It's worth a look.
