Exmouth vs Coral Bay

Hi all fellow anglers!
A group of us are planning a trip up north in the first week of May and we are debating between staying at Coral Bay or Exmouth. I've been to Coral Bay previously and enjoyed it but if the wind blows then you don't have too many other options of places to fish. In my opinion I would think that Exmouth gives you loads more opportunities depending on which way the wind is blowing. Would like to hear what opinions others have on the 2 places whether it be fishing in general or any other pros and cons for both locations.
Cheers in adavnce! Kuzi.

I came across plenty of
I came across plenty of sharks in Coral Bay also. Are the sharks still plentiful inside the gulf at Exmouth? My thoughts about Exmouth were that if its blowing bad then you could always head inside some creeks/mangroves/flats for some fishing inside the gulf.

Good shore base fishing in
Good shore base fishing in the gulf when it's howling onshore look for reef in close head south of town. I use to bury a 20l bucket flush in the sand down the beach throw a mulie in it and catch the little sand crabs for blue bone bait. No drag required just skull drag.

I may be bias,
I may be bias, but.....
Usually by May the wind is not to bad up here.
But does depend on what type of fishing and boat you are going for and have.
Also if you are not fishing every day what else are you looking to get up to?

My mate has a 6.5m trailcraft
My mate has a 6.5m trailcraft and we are also considering hiring a boat from Exmouth depending on numbers. We will be mainly bottom bashing and trolling occasionally and we plan to fish every day if all goes well. From what I've been reading it sounds like there's some good fishing in Exy but seems to be a lot of sharks around out wide. Is this the same for inside the gulf and is the fishing inside the gulf substandard compared to out wide of Exy?
