Exmouth small charter???
Submitted by wazzbat on Sat, 2011-09-24 19:24
Hi all
I am lucky enough to be heading up to Broome on a cruise ship soon with a group of ppl and on the way back, we spend a day docked out of Exxy. Just wondering what the chances are of organising a small fishing charter for up to 10 guys. We are hoping to organise the boat to pick us up from the ship? Any ideas or recommendations greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Cool I might see you on there. I was thinking of organising something like that but instead I'll probably fish off the beach.

you'd probably be lucky
you'd probably be lucky getting one of the boats that can fit 10 people to come to the ship and be able to pick you up.
I'd be trying to arrange something with Josh or Eddy:

Sails might be in the Gulf so I'm sure they would be able to arrange something.

Thanks for your ideas Lucky
Thanks for your ideas Lucky Tim.
My cousin has organised a half day trip out with Eddy (peaksportfishing) for just three or four of us. It's too hard to organise more people. Hopefully he can put us onto some good fish. We are hoping to get onto some big GTs or whatever else is biting really. Unfortunately we don't have enough time to make a full day of it.
I will have a yarn to the staff on the way up to see if we can bring some fillets back on board just in case we catch some quality bottom fish.
Can't wait!
Cheers again!

OK. Just got back from the
OK. Just got back from the cruise and very dissapointingly we weren't able to get off the ship in Exmouth due to some pretty windy conditions. They just wouldn't let anyone into the tenders. It was kind of rough but I don't think it was that bad. We saw a few smallish boats head out of the Marina - no dramas. We had to let Eddy know the bad news. I'm pretty sure he was still keen to get us out there too?
Anyway, thought I'd mention that Eddy was really cool about it and didn't charge us the deposit (which he hadn't taken out yet due to a mix up with account numbers or something). He could have held us to paying it but he's obviously a decent bloke and just let it ride. So just based on that, I would definitely try and use him in the future if I was looking at a small charter in Exmouth.
Cheers

Yes i was annoyed that we didn't get off at exmouth. I rekon the captain pulled the trigger too early because at 10 and 11 the waters were flat and we could've spent a good half a day there.
Did you end up fishing in Broome? How'd you go if you went? Only got a few barra and bottom species off the jetty in a few hours
Cheers Ben
