Exmouth in september? Need some advice, my last 3 trips I only managed a couple of fish

Planning to head up there at the start of september, will be land based as I love the shallow water fight. Still yet to achieve the one goal I have set myself, spangled from the beach/rocks.
Have plenty of lures and gear literally spent thousands at the tackle store last time I was up.is september a reasonable chance for spango's off the shore? Anyway if anyone could help id be most gratefull, if anyone lives there local they are welcome to get intouch with me on here when im up there if they like to join me for a fish :)

Haha i read that one before i went away last june have used the search read pretty much everything with the word exmouth in the post title absolutley love the place even if the fish havent been so kind. This year I wont have my girlfriend and sister with me so i should get more time to do some proper exploring, last year alot of my time went to rigging them up and the likes and taking them into town just as the best part of the tides about to hit. Who knows maybe i just wasnt working the lures correctly deffinatly put the miles in though. cheers for the suggestion always a good starting point :)

long rods and lighter line

Mate - exxy is hard work, it gets hit a lot and by sept every spango within 100m of the shore has had a lure or bait thrown at its head. Work the tides and sunrise/set and put some leg work in. Maybe a bit of burley might help as well but if there is one surefire thing that may help it is go light to a point that you start getting busted up and then go up from there. Light line and leader lets you cast further, which means less spooked fish and more natural lure presentation. We all go up there loaded for bear, but in reality there are a lot more rabbits. Yes you will get smoked if the big one comes a long but you will also catch a lot more fish by going light. That's all i got for ya but it works. By light I mean PE2 and 20lb fluro. You could probably go down to 2kg fireline and 10lb fluro which was what we used to use for bream etc over east but from the sure that might be playing with fire a bit much (but good fun). lets you cast smaller lures/jig heads as well.

Light gear

Yeah I visited Hon Su down at oceanside before I went up last year bought a nice flueger outfit loaded with 10lb braid I was fishing light, not worried about losing fish better to get hooked up and busted off then no touches at all, all the blokes on here healped with lure selection etc great forum eveyone is always very helpfull. Maybe last year it just wasnt to be but really thinking its just im really new to the lure a plastics scene. Wont give up though haha never surrender. Still atleast its a beautiful spot still dreaming of someday moving up there for good, the locals remind me alot of the locals up in mundaring where I live all seem very friendly
