Electronics query

Hey Guys my query is are there any issues with hooking up your sounder, radio, gps etc at home and then drive to the launch ramp? approx 10klms

hooking them up ledge but just don't turn your sounder on until the boat is in the water.

Fine to leave them in the boat ,as long as the lite fingered kids don't get it I take mine out after each trip ,to much info on the gps to go lose it.

...depends on where you leave your boat when you're not using it. When my boat sat outside, down the side of the house, I'd remove the sounder/gps after every trip (open centre console, electronics exposed to the elements), but now that it sits in the shed, I leave them connected.

Maybe these newer units are a bit sturdier, but the old Humminbird gps that I had eventually started to suffer broken pins where it connected to the power/antenna, due to constant attachment/detachment. Had to send it to Queensland to fix it in the end.

My advice is to leave them connected all the time, if you can...but if security/exposure is an issue, then you'll have to take them out each trip.
