Frustrating they can take it up to (a pretty depleted) Geelong one week and then look completely disinterested the next week. Well done to Riewoldt though, nearly 10 contested marks in a game is a big effort. He was on fire.
I really think they need to send Embley back to the WAFL, but I am sure the Black and Whites would not be interested.
They need to get rid of Embley full stop, he is past it now 4 sure. They also need to get rid of 5/6 others before there will be any real consistent improvement.
I'll second the Embly comment, he has been really average lately. He seems to have lost his awareness of whats happening around him. He get run down, turns the ball over by foot. I have been a big fan but he has been lousy
Agreed, there will be a cleanout this year. I am very sure Woosha found out Lynch has signed to Gold Coast hence his ommission for not much reason earlier in the year. Also hope Hansen and Embley find new homes for next year. Jury would be out on Brett Jones, and I even think that Kerr is viable trade bait this year (not sure on contract situation there). Would love to see Hamms on the senior list. Delist Tony Nott, move on McKinley, get Tom Swift a modelling contract so he can do what he is good at.
With all that there could be a couple first round draft picks to be had maybe.
No great loss as far as I am concerned, the others that need to go are Hansen, McKinley, Nicoski, Spangher, Jones, Scott Selwood. We need to give some rookies and others more game time, although injury problems are preventing that as well.
Spangher and Scott Selwood are just kids, give them a couple more years at least. Anybody remember how terrible Glass was in his first year? He turned out OK for a few years at least, probably worst captain going around now though.
its sad to see such a good player like emba's go out like this but he has lost his"footy brain" and lynch i bloody hope he is traded!!!HE HAS NEVA BEEN ANYGOOD kicked a few goal when judd/cousins/kerr were kicking it to hi.
When Woosha goes his siamese twin Sumich should go with him and one hopes heaven forbid they don't get a job in the media with their mate Jako who isn't a commentator's A@#$ hole IMO
Carnarvonie hit it on the head- get rid of both of them. Worsfold was handed a flag in the early days with the gun side he had ie Cuzzie, Kerr, Judd, If he had a clue they would not have lost that first Grandie to Sydney by a point.
Embley has become a rabbit and must go. The worst thing is the value of some of these guys is pretty low after some average seasons.
Jako shits me also. Why they force him on us punters has got me stuffed. I mean he was a over rated footballer who wouldn't get a game in today's ultra fast game. Nothing more than a big slow spoiler who just knocked the ball away from the likes of Carey.
As far as that pool of no goers above you wouldn't trade pick 10 for the lot of them. Unfortunately for all the e-girl fanatics out there I'm afraid they are R/S for many years to come due to poor management i.e. not tanking and winning that last game against Richmond for what.
It cost them a free early draft pick and look what the Tigers done to you Saturday.
Dean Laidley would be first choice, Walls would be on too good a wicket in the media to even consider it. Cousins will get another year then a coaching position with Richmond.
Gold Coast would have to have rocks in their heads to even think about Lynch or Hansen, sure Lynch has a massive kick but if you can't get the ball to him its wasted and Hansen is strictly a mark and kick forward with no second or third attempts if he misses the mark.
Crikey that's about the best and truest thing you've said about the eagles. As someone once said if you aint got the cattle, and we don't.The mid field's ##$#%ed the back line's %$%$&ed The forward line's $%$^^%ed what more can I say. There's no intensity in their game either. Bloody heartbraking
Why, because it is providing the best comedy routine that I have seen since Chris "Journeyman" Connelly. I think that woosh is resorting to be using some of his lines now. LOL
the time slot on Fox the dockers had for 15 years, and apparently there is a new footy program on Fox called White Line fever, hosted by Michael Johnston..
hey guys , leave the poor buggers alone. dont you think they are suffering enough already. but then again , its only the eagles , only thing is that they have been plucked big time :)
they were going play finals this year - why all the negativity, especially from their own fans?

First round draft picks?? You have got to be kidding right? Aside from the fact that none of the players you listed are worth a burnt piece of toast, Gold Coast have picks 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15. You would have to have something pretty special this year to prize out a 1st round pick......
I assume players can be traded to GC for picks, so maybe 3 or 4 players may get one of 11, 13 or 15? All new teams need some bigger bodies. Lynch, Hansen, Embley and Jones are all premiership players, and all are past their best, but they would be useful for a year or 2 at GC or GWS whilst the kids put on some size to be able to compete.
I did honestly think they would be top 8 material this year. My mistake, I didn't see it coming. I will stick by them of course, but if you are going to rebuild for a premiership (as opposed to just winning 11 games a year like Sydney is doing), why hang on to these guys that are not really a fit for that kind of aim. Of course the argument is that the drafts will be poor for existing teams, so we will see more poking around in the WAFL, VFL and SANFL for the 20 to 24 year old surprise packet.
To summarise, unless the Joondalup AFL team gets up, I will be a WCE supporter for life.
for the WCE, they will get better, much better in the next few seasons. The design of the draft ensures that all teams at one stage or another go through the dark days. The beauty with the AFL is that any team can beat any other on their day, we have all seen that. It is quite amazing the difference only one or two players can make, again we have seen that that with St Kilda, Brisbane and other sides.
