Eating the unusual
One of me ol' mates Max Cramer (RIP) , told me after a dive that we humans have a weird sense of what is an edible seafood species and what is regarded as inedible. He has showed me some weird stuff found whilst diving and offered it to me as a snack and more often then not (being raw) it was quite good, sometimes excellent.
Now I know a few secrets, and not willing to spill the beans on his secrets, and fisheries wanting in on the act.
I will however recommend the humble King Wrasse (yep Dhuie bait) if cooked right is 1.3X better then Baldy and possibly the best eating fish in WA...yep big call
I reckon crumbed Eagle Ray is better then Dhufish, maybe I have strange taste buds....going to do a side by side soon and see what wins, bet the ray does

Sea Urchin = seafood
Sea Urchin = seafood cocktail
Was working at the Abrolhos and had a Maori bloke constantly coming over to us asking for fish heads, he didnt want any fillets, just the heads and was taking them back to his family in Geraldton for dinner.... should of seen his eyes light up when I dived over the side and got some urchins for us to snack on.
