Seen a 5kg (approx) mulla

Seen a 5kg (approx) mulla landed there a week or so ago but other than that I havn't seen or heard anything. Mind you I've only been there the once & havn't spoken to anyone else that's been there so the joint could be on fire for all I know.

Don't use herring as bait

Wed, 2012-01-04 12:05

I had no bait so ..... decided to take a few herring with me. Chucked a fillet on and had a hookup in 30 seconds. Second fillet went down..... 5 minutes later a different ray.....

And i was keeping it of the bottom!.

Never used live occy there

Never used live occy there but did catch a 9kg mulla down there 2 seasons ago on a whole frozen (bought) occy. I've only picked up 6 mulla from the esheds but 5 of those came on livies caught there to & the one on the occy. Just legal Tailor or Gars seem to do the trick for me.

Heaps of baitfish

Wed, 2012-01-04 13:25

There's alot of bait fish there at the moment. Mainly yellow tail. Heaps of pickers at the moment too... Current was really strong the other night too.

You should try a running sinker with a cork just before the hook to help keep your bait up. Will stop some of the pickers there
