(ytk, blues, etc) or if not any good spots down that way to fish off for the same sorta fish? any help would be much appreciated, cheers, Jacques

With a 3m swell I would be recommending avoiding Canal Rocks and the West Coast;

Do you have a boat or shore based?

Quarries

Try a dive around at the Quarries, just north around the point from Bunkers. You should have enough shelter there from the swell.

 Eagle bay around to Castle

 Eagle bay around to Castle rock might be OK. Wouldn't expect to see too many Dhu's or YTK but you may get lucky and run into a blue. Leatherjackets, foxfish, KG are common.

The better reef is about 50 to 100m out in about 8+m depths. As lamby mentioned though whites follow the migrating whales right in there at this time of year as the depth drops away pretty quick. Mako's are common in the area too.

Quarries is also good but seaweed banks up on the shore there and with the swell stirring it up the vis might not be great.

My suggestion would be go buy a bag of burley, find a spot betwen Dunsborough and and Eagle bay and catch a bunch of herring for the BBQ. Will be heaps more fun than trying to dive at this time of year.
