Hi looking for some advise I have been invited out when the Demersal ban is over to go out and catch some dewies and snapper how ever I don't have anything big I only have light spinning gear i have been looking at the penn spinfisher and have looked at the Ssm or the older ss ones made in the usa would that be a good reel I'll be matching it to a 10 to 15 kg trion rod I have I just don't go boat fishing a lot and though it would be a decent reel to use for heavy spin fishing too

10 to 15 KG
10 to 15 kg will be just fine. If you are only going out once or twice with yoiur friend, there is no need to spend a lot of money on a reel. I was never a big fan of Rex Hunt but one thing he always said was 'there's no point fishing where the fish aint' & that is absolutely right. Sharp hooks, learn how to tie knots if you dont already& hope your mate knows where the fish are. Being on the fish is the most important thing. The people at the tackle shop will fit a reel to your rod but no need to spend big dollars if you are not going to fish for demersals regularly. It wont make much difference.
