Day out with the Faulkners

Went out yesterday with the Faulkner family and enjoyed a great day of sensational Exmouth conditions, unfortunately the fish weren't on the bite as much as we hoped.  We ended up with 1 4kg red emperor, 4 rankin, 2 robbo's, 1 chinaman fish, heap of sweetlip, a fair few trevally (released) and one 117cm Malabar grouper which was released.  We tried trolling around for marlin/mackies for a while and had no success :(.  Even though the fish weren't on the bite, we had a sailfish smash a baitball in front of us and give us a show, whales jumping everywhere, sea snakes, turtles and there must have been 8-10 different mackerel jump 20ft in the air during the day having a phat time chasing the flying fish.

Overall a great day on the water, thanks very much Russ, Sandy, Brendan and Nath - Sure the rest of the crew are looking foward to some of your great pics that you showed me last night.

Cheers,

Adam

Sounds like Russ, Sandy and the kids had an enjoyable day with plenty to watch and fair success on the bottom. Shame you couldn't hook into any decent surface stuff!!

I think I MIGHT just be able to recognise their trolling reels Wink

you had there - i feel a bit guilty because while you were toughing it out up there i was standing in a mix of rain and hail with 30 knot winds on a building site in Bunbury -i bet you are really envious!
