Dawesville Crabs and Logue Brook Marron
Hiya
Me and a few work mates caught these crabs last weekend dropping nets out near boggy bay in the estuary. We got our 20 in about 2 hours. nothing too big but a couple of good ones. It was good fun, especially for the other guys who don't get to go out much at all. And for my 3 year old son who thinks he is the crabbing King now! We had a great feed. That's about the 6th time this season we have bagged our limit. I love the blue swimmers. There are heaps down there and surprisingly quite full this year too. Notice the old Metters cooker too. They just don't build em like they use to. This thing is a beast for cooking 20 crabs. About 30 mins all up including lighting the fire!
The photos of the Marron is from our Logue Brooke trip on the first night of the season. The photos aren't that good but it was a pretty good size. Just over 100mm from memory. Unfortunately the wind came up before the big ones came out making it near impossible to snare for the buggers. You could hardly see them let alone the wire nooses we were using. It was a fluke I was able to get that one. It was still good fun even though we only got two sized ones for the night. I ended up letting them both go later in the night after we realised the wind was going nowhere in a hurry. Wasn't worth cooking up two marron we thought.

Try taking the spaces out of the name and reattaching them. The system is translating %20 from a space.

Nah mate. Unfortunately
Nah mate. Unfortunately just the 2 sized ones. We did catch quite a few that were just undersized earlier in the night but then the wind came in and we were in the wrong spot. Didn't see any fisheries officers there either by the way.

Never been to louge brook
Never been to louge brook dam...
Went marroning in the collie river got 6 size al a fair bit over and about 6 size ones with eggs....along with the undersize ones. We were shocked that we got five there the other night and then got six in the same spot last night. We would have thought that the pool we were marroning would get fished out on oppening day!

Good work. You did a lot
Good work. You did a lot better than us. We had limited time so couldn't waste it looking around the feeder streams and rivers etc. We just snared in the dam itself. We are gonna do a recon mission later in the year and plot a few spots for next season. Hopefully we find some good remote locations? We plan on doing a bit of bush bashin! Yeeha!

Yea i agree. The harder the spot is to get to... the bigger and for frequent the marron!
Just like our "secret" spot... its very remote and the marron we get average 135ml!
