bloke by the name of Mark West. His bro works at Fishing and Outdoor World. Mark runs a 4.5mtr boat and knows the harbour like the back of his hand..I dont have his number directly but the tackle shop does, the tackle shop number is 08 89816398 and speak with Matt West..
He recommended an old guy who both fly and lure fishes the Darwin Harbour out of a tinny - having spent a fortune with Ultimate Fishing Adventures ( read - unprofessional no hopers) I learnt and caught more in a day trip with the old guy than I did in over a week with the others. The cost was around $250 for the day by myself ....................oh and wander through Georges 'tackle shop - it is a treasure trove (it's right in Darwin itself).
A bit of God's country - and where do they get off serving half a cow as a standard meal - wrecks my waistline every time (what is the name of that restaurant in the back lane parallel to cavenagh street ?? Tims ?? brilliant either way)
yeah go for a stroll through Fishing and Outdoor, and if you can't make it to Tim's for tea go for lunch, you won't leave hungry. A quick stroll down Mitchell St will provide you with a heap of barra charter numbers, I have only been with Darwins Barra Base, they were ok but I don't think I'd go again.
